CWM MarketLine - Independent Valuers and Property Advisers
DIRECTORS

All five founding Directors of CWM Market Line are ‘hands on’ property valuation professionals. Their combined knowledge and industry skills span the entire spectrum of property valuations. Each of the Directors has specialist expertise in certain aspects of property valuation and is available to provide professional advice and assistance to clients of CWM Market Line.

Mark Christie
Director CWM Market Line
Managing Director Christie Whyte Moore

Mark’s career in property valuations began in 1977. Since then, his 28 years in the property valuation industry has seen him gain extensive experience in State Government and the private sector as a director and shareholder of Brendon Hubble Pty Ltd and subsequently as a director of Sallmanns (WA) Pty Ltd.

In 1990, with 15 year’s specialist know-how already ‘under his belt’, Mark established Christie Whyte Moore with fellow valuers, Greg Whyte and David Moore.

Over the span of his career, Mark has developed particular expertise in the areas of rental review advocacy and determinations, retail properties, specialist trading properties and preparation of expert witness evidence.

Mark is a Fellow of the Australian Property Institute and serves on its Board of Examiners as well as the Rental Arbitration and Determination Panel. He was also State Councillor of the Mortgage Industry Association from 1992 to 1997 and served on the Board of Landcorp (the Land Authority for the Western Australian Government) for two years.

At both Christie Whyte Moore and Market Line, Mark’s particular responsibilities are client relationships and company development.

When not working, Mark treasures his time with his family: wife Serena, daughters Sophie and Isobel and son James. Mark is passionate about his horse, Barrabadeen Remembrance, and his small farming property in Yallingup. He is a fanatical follower of sport with a particular love of football, cricket and tennis.

He is an Associate member of the Australian Property Institute and Licensed Valuer.

Away from the office, Andrew enjoys time with his wife Salli and daughter Matilda. He is an avid sportsman and spectator. Andrew breaks up his week with training and playing cricket and fits in swimming and squash when he can.

Garry Coates
Director CWM Market Line
Managing Director Market Line

Garry’s history in property valuations goes back to the late 1960s. A Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT) graduate, Garry received his initial training as a Valuer at the Commonwealth Tax Office.

With private enterprise in his veins, Garry moved to the regional city of Bendigo in 1973 to establish a successful private valuation practice known as Coates, Campbell and Associates.

Around 13 years later he moved back to the Mornington Peninsula on the southern outskirts of Melbourne and immediately set about re-establishing himself in the local valuation industry.

In 1992, together with Rob Fellows and Greg Sugars, Garry established Market Line Property Valuations where he is now the Managing Director.

Garry’s expertise within the valuations industry is full and varied, but with a particular emphasis on prestige residential and lifestyle properties. Garry’s extensive property knowledge is also sought where expert witness testimony is required in various court proceedings, tribunals and reviews for the Land Valuation Board.

Garry and his wife Sue have three boys and continue to live at Mornington, a delightful seaside township, approximately one hour south of Melbourne CBD. Away from the office Garry’s strongest passion is music, especially live music, including jazz, blues, funk and “rock ‘n’ roll”. He also enjoys dancing, sailing and travelling and all things sports-related. Garry is also an avid follower of the “Blues” in the AFL.
